I started providing garden support at the age of 16 when I would do gardening work in my summer holidays. I then started designing gardens for myself by working on the neglected gardens in various houses I moved into. After doing a degree in environmental design, I started running my own plant shop where customers would ask for my advice on plants in their gardens. Then they started asking me to stock their whole gardens with new plants and create fresh new planting schemes. I’ve always had a passion for beautiful outdoor spaces having grown up with two parents who are very keen gardeners, propagating their own plants and sculpting each garden we owned.

From 2022 I found myself project managing a barn conversion, turning an 18th century traditional Essex barn on a farmstead into a home with my husband. Which means I now have my own outside space that needs a transformation. You can see the progress here. Although it’s nice to see a quick transformation I think the beauty of a garden is watching how it grows and changes each year, so it becomes an evolving creation that can be adapted and improved over time.

The Process
I provide a range of support for my clients from planting and growing advice on existing gardens, to redesigns and supply and planting new plants and ongoing support.

Each garden is different so I start by talking to my clients to see what they need, discussing expectations and aspirations. I will then survey the outdoor space to help me cost the project then I can provide a quote and timescale. I can provide a planting list, source plants and plant them as required. I’m happy to offer any guidance on how to grow existing/new plants and can provide gardening support as required.
